Two Brooklyn residents — Sevak Kocharian and Arkadiy Pastin — and one New Jersey man, Jashanpreet Singh, were among the eight people charged in the wide-ranging scheme, which stole everything from electronics to liquor to clothing, the Justice Department said. More than 1,000 images of child sex abuse material were found on a Long Island man’s computer, leading to his arrest, police said.
Richard Enstad, 68, was charged with promoting and possessing child porn, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
Enstad, of Lindenhurst, was arrested Thursday, June 25 at his home after cops executed a search warrant at the residence, authorities said.

Arnulfo Castillo, of Rockville Center, convinced people to invest in properties on Long Island, took their money, then pocketed it for himself, and ghosted the would-be investors, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday, June 30.

A Long Island woman who stole from her employer and from taxpayers has been sentenced to prison time, authorities announced Tuesday, June 30.
Christa Ramos, 57, of Brightwaters, got three to six years behind bars for swiping $230,000 from her company and $40,000 through unemployment fraud, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.
Ramos worked as a clerk for Northeast Electrical Contractors from December 2018 to June 2023 and was responsible for paying company bills, authorities said.

Bellport Pedestrian Killed By Tractor-Trailer Identified Days After Collision: Police
The pedestrian killed in a Long Island car crash last week was identified Tuesday, June 30 by authorities.
Denis Hernandez, 27, was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Station Road in North Bellport, the Suffolk County Police Department said Tuesday.
Hernandez, of Bellport, was standing in the road just south of Martha Avenue when a southbound tractor-trailer struck him around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, according to police.
He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The accident remains under investigation.

A Long Island man has been arrested after a young woman was found dead inside a residence, authorities announced Tuesday, June 30.
Joseph Horner, 27, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Victoria Castle, 25, in North Massapequa, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Prosecutors said Horner and his wife lived in the same building as the victim and identified her as his sister-in-law, according to Newsday. He told her needed help moving a piano, then attacked her, sexually abused her, and left her for dead, authorities said.
