Body Found In Connecticut River Near Marina; Investigation Underway
A body found in the Connecticut River near has sparked a multi-agency inbestigation, authorities said. Connecticut State Police and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to Chester Point Marina on Thursday afternoon after the body was discovered in the water. On Friday, DEEP officials said South Windsor Police are leading the investigation. According to DEEP, the body was found on or near Selden Island in Lyme, across the river from Chester Point Marina. A Massachusetts National Guard truck overturned and burst into flames on Interstate 84, sending two service members to the hospital and shutting down part of the highway during the evening commute.
